This great winemaking country has gone through some dramatic changes. From being the darling of the UK wine consumer, later to be derided for over-oaked chardonnay and suffered from over-production and drought, Australia has now emerged again, leaner, fitter and producing some superb wines.
Lower production, better quality and creative winemakers mean that and this is once again a pioneer in the world of wine. We will steer clear of the big brands and look at the boutique Australian wines that are getting great reviews.
When: Sat 25th January, 7.30pm
As we taste our way through 8 wines, from Barossa Valley to Margaret River, we'll look at the different styles and grape varieties to really showcase what Australia can do. You'll rapidly become more familiar with the diversity and expand your wine drinking horizons with confidence. Choosing Australian wine will never be quite the same again. We also include food, to fortify you through the experience and give the added dimension of food and wine matching.
